TRL-3
- Technical readiness status. The basic concept has been formulated, the application area has been defined, and prototype drawings have been developed.
- Basic concept. The load-bearing vest is designed to house an emergency reserve of life-support tools for military personnel.
- Application area. Depending on military purposes, different types of load-bearing vests can be used by military personnel to store an emergency reserve of life-support tools (ELS) in combat conditions and emergency situations on land and water.
- Basic design. The product is designed as a vest model. Its main feature is many specialized pouches, pockets, and other attachments intended to hold the ELS issued to military personnel. The load-bearing vest model consists of three layers of material (surface layer, padding, lining) and fittings. Requirements for each material layer have been defined.
- Operational readiness status. Basic business process schemes have been defined, partner networks have been identified, and technical requirements for the product have been established.
- The basic business project includes the following stages: creation of a project sketch; selection of materials and fittings; determination of physical and mechanical characteristics during laboratory testing; selection of technologies for assembling product components.
- Partner network: customers; certified laboratory; manufacturers.
- Technical requirements: weight, level of physical and mechanical characteristics of materials and seams, indicators of reliability, maintainability, and service life.
- Advantages and risks. Initial evaluation of advantages and risks has been conducted. Preliminary patent analysis has been carried out.
Market and economic attractiveness
The proposed model, compared to its analogs, features superior ergonomic and protective properties, allowing for an increased emergency reserve weight of up to 28 kg, which enhances life-support capabilities in combat conditions.
The vest is made from domestic materials with improved tensile strength and wear resistance, incorporating mechanical load damping and shock absorption.
Main advantages (strengths) of the Device
- The design addresses the following challenges: new materials with enhanced ergonomic properties and physical-mechanical characteristics have been utilized;
- Limitations regarding weight, service life, and cost have been taken into account; additional structural elements have been incorporated for reliability, such as backup components, fittings, and inserts;
- Increased reliability for elements intended to store combat supplies.
Main Characteristics
The load-bearing vest is designed to house an emergency reserve of life-support tools in combat conditions with an even distribution of its weight.
For the vest's production, the following materials have been selected:
First layer | textile material Cordura with a polymer fiber base |
Second layer | polymer materials such as foam rubber (polyurethane foam) or polystyrene foam |
Lining | twill or materials with a volumetric mesh structure |
Fittings | metal components with enhanced strength indicators and additional backup elements |
Attachment systems for vest pouches | Soft Snap First Spea |
