TRL-8
Heat pipes of variable thermal conductivity for thermal stabilization of space and electronic equipment have been developed
Market and economic attractiveness
- The point is that at the moment, the niche of such heat transfer devices on the market is practically unoccupied, but at the same time there is a certain demand for them from the developers of space equipment, which requires thermal stabilization in wide temperature ranges and in conditions of sudden temperature changes
The main advantages (strengths) of the development
- Variable thermal conductivity - at operating temperatures below 0 C, the heat flow is not transmitted, however, when the temperature rises above 0 C, the heat pipe begins to work as a heat transfer device. The effect was achieved only by selecting the optimal combination of the characteristics of the capillary structure and the coolant;
- The possibility of selecting the optimal combination of the characteristics of the capillary structure and the coolant for specific technical requirements;
- The possibility of manufacturing heat pipes of any geometric configuration
Main characteristics
Thermal power transmitted by one pipe | up to 25 W |
Thermal conductivity in the temperature range -75...0 C | 0.03...0.04 W/K |
Thermal conductivity in the temperature range of 0...+55 C | 3...6 W/K |
The length of the heat pipe | 0.1...0.5 m |
Ready state
- The product is integrated into the system and tested
- Production on the experimental line has been carried out
- The choice of which elements to produce and which to order has been made
- Schemes of basic business processes are defined
- An initial assessment of benefits and risks has been completed
- The evaluation of usefulness has been carried out
