A microwave filter with an induced transparency window based on a modified split-ring resonator comprises a defected ground structure (DGS) etched on the ground plate in the form of at least one planar split-ring resonator (SRR) formed by female and male elements, as well as transmission line and ground plate separated by dielectric. In a planar split-ring resonator, the female element is of the form of an outer open ring. The male element is made in the form of a volumetric dielectric resonator with a high quality factor (more than 2000).
