The invention relates to methods of synthesis of zinc oxides used as adsorbents and photocatalysts. A method for obtaining a photocatalyst-adsorbent based on zinc (II) oxide, in the synthesis of which a solution of oxalic acid in ethyl alcohol is added dropwise to a solution of zinc acetate in ethyl alcohol heated to a temperature of 40 ° C, stirred, kept for a day, dried and calcined. Activated carbon is added during the synthesis. The proposed method is environmentally friendly, and the resulting material is effective for the method of adsorption and photocatalytic wastewater treatment of pharmaceutical, food and other enterprises.
