A method for obtaining nanocellulose from the stems of non-woody plants includes alkaline treatment and cooking the cellulose in a mixture of glacial acetic acid and hydrogen peroxide. The pulp is treated with a solution containing TEMPO, NaBr and NaClO for 2 to 24 hours. It is washed by centrifugation, sonicated and a transparent nanocellulose gel is obtained.
