Planing method includes two process objects – a tool and a workpiece, one of the process objects is subjected to a cutting motion – a periodic rectilinear movement along one of the coordinate axes in the horizontal plane, including a forward stroke and a reverse stroke. The other process object is stationary. Before each forward stroke, the process object that is stationary during the cutting motion is subjected to a feed motion – a periodic straight-line movement in the direction perpendicular to the cutting motion along the other coordinate axes. Before each reverse stroke, the workpiece, which is stationary during the cutting motion, is given a feed motion in the same direction as before each forward stroke.
