The invention relates to medical transplantation, namely to a method of forming an antibacterial coating on the surface of metal implants. The antibacterial coating on the surface is formed by introducing inert gas ions to a depth of 200 nm with an energy of 6±0.1 keV, and the surface irradiation dose is 5·10¹⁹ ion·cm⁻² in high vacuum. Technical result: protection against the growth of biofilms with pathogenic and conditionally pathogenic microflora, reduction in cost and simplification of the method.
